For three days in mid-November...

126 teen programmers from 15 different countries gathered at Duolingo HQ, then at Civic Hall in Manhattan, NYC.

40 hours of hacking

From Friday night to Sunday morning, attendees spent hours hacking away at their Parthenon projects. Teens built everything from multiplayer dating sim games to Arduino-controlled DJ sets.

54 projects (and countless memories) made.

At 8am on Sunday, attendees rushed to make sure their projects were shipped and working in time for the project showcase, which was attended by engineers at companies such as GitHub, Notion, Slack and Cloudflare.

The top three projects were determined through peer voting.

Parthenon

Parthenon was hosted by Hack Club as part of the Athena Initiative for girls and nonbinary students worldwide. Food and accommodation were provided, with over 20k USD of travel grants being distributed to attendees.
Prior to coming to Parthenon, attendees spent 30 hours coding and built 3 technical projects as part of the Athena Award, a program ran in collaboration with GirlsWhoCode, MIT Beaverworks, and many more.
